Brand selection — Gree, Midea, Mitsubishi
Sunny sells three mini split brands. The selection matters for warranty turnaround, repair speed, and rep commission flow.
Preference order
Section titled “Preference order”| Rank | Brand | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gree | Sunny is a Gree Select direct dealer. Fastest warranty registration. Default choice. |
| 2 | Midea | Acceptable when the homeowner specifically asks. Slower warranty registration. |
| 3 | Mitsubishi | Avoid unless the homeowner insists. Slow repairs, hard warranty claims. |
Warranty registration timeline
Section titled “Warranty registration timeline”| Brand | Time to register warranty |
|---|---|
| Gree | 3–5 business days |
| Midea | 7–10 days |
| Mitsubishi | Long — takes the most effort |
Gree is fastest because Sunny inputs the warranty directly into the Gree system as a Select dealer.
Warranty term length
Section titled “Warranty term length”| Brand | Mini split warranty |
|---|---|
| Gree | 10 years |
| Midea | 10 years |
| Mitsubishi | 12 years (but hard to actually claim) |
For central air brands, Mitsubishi is 10 years, not 12.
Why we avoid Mitsubishi
Section titled “Why we avoid Mitsubishi”Only one specialized repair team services Mitsubishi. That team is always out on jobs. A homeowner with a Mitsubishi issue can wait 48 hours for a repair visit. Compared to Gree where any team can service it, Mitsubishi creates customer-experience problems we’d rather avoid.
If a homeowner specifically asks for Mitsubishi, that’s their call — sell it. But don’t lead with it.
How to position to homeowners
Section titled “How to position to homeowners”If they have no preference: just sell Gree. No need to mention the others.
If they ask why not Mitsubishi: be honest. “Mitsubishi has a 12-year warranty but it’s hard to claim, and repairs take longer because only one specialized team services them. Gree gives you 10 years and same-day support if anything goes wrong.”
If they insist on Mitsubishi: sell it and document expectations clearly.
